As a way to appeal to and reach broader audiences, many Broadway shows have special digital lotteries for less expensive tickets. The new Beetlejuice musical is joining the fray.
The show — still in previews — isn’t just offering the chance to win inexpensive tickets (priced modestly at $40), it’s also giving fans of Tim Burton and trivia a chance to shine with a weekly, live trivia hour.
Each Tuesday during the musical’s previews, the cast will host a live game show outside its theatrical home at the Winter Garden Theatre. The trivia contest will cover everything related to the show and will be called “It’s (Game) Showtime!” prior to the Tuesday lottery drawing for reduced, $33.33-priced tickets.

Musical star and Tony Award nominee Alex Brightman (Beetlejuice in the show) will host the first live show on April 2. The lottery will open every Tuesday at 5 p.m., and two entrants will be chosen to compete for the prize of two complementary tickets to that evening’s show. The runner-up will have the chance to purchase two discounted tickets for that show as well. Don’t fret if you aren’t chosen for the game, 14 additional winners will be randomly selected to purchase tickets for that night’s show.
Beetlejuice begins previews Thursday, March 28 before its April 25 official opening night.
