Can you believe Beetlejuice is 30 years old?! It looks like he hasn’t aged a day, but I guess that’s why they call him the ghost with the most.
This weekend, fans can head to theaters to watch the Tim Burton film in all its glory on the big screen for its 30th anniversary celebration. Not only will it be screening nationwide, but it will also make the rounds in theaters in the UK, France, Spain, Switzerland Taiwan, Australia, and Latin America.
If you haven’t seen it before, first of all, pull your life together. The film, starring Michael Keaton, Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis, and Winona Ryder, is about a newly deceased young couple that takes a crash course in haunting from an in-your-face ghost named Beetlejuice (and a handy little manual called the Handbook for the Recently Deceased). The ghost helps guide them to scare away a terribly tacky family that moves into their old house, with lots of ghoulish shenanigans along the way.
There will also be a musical adaptation heading to Broadway, with a pre-Broadway run at the National Theatre in Washington D.C. from October 14 through November 18, and a full opening on April 25.
