Many fans assumed Ben Affleck would be leaving the role of Batman in the DC Entertainment Universe after he entered rehab last month.

Yet TMZ reports that Affleck visited the Warner Bros. Pictures office this week while on a break from rehab, carrying something that looked like a script.

This does not necessarily indicate a return to DC, as Warner Bros. have produced and financed many of the Justice League star’s recent films. But that didn’t stop fans on Twitter from speculating that the script is for Matt Reeves’ upcoming film, The Batman.

Reeves hasn’t made any official comment on Affleck’s involvement (or lack thereof) in the movie, which may start production in 2019. He did say that it will connect in some way to the DC Universe.
