The holidays didn’t keep Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and Jumanji: The Next Level from jumping to the top of the box office, according to Variety.
After just 12 days in theaters, The Rise of Skywalker has made more than $725 million in international box office sales. Around this world, it has already become the 10th-biggest movie of the year. This weekend alone the final part of the trilogy about the galaxy far, far away earned $94.3 million globally
Jumanji: The Next Level has been equally successful overseas as it pushed Star Wars out of the way to be in the top spot in places such as Australia and Italy, and earn $296 million. It is on its way to hitting $500 million in the global box office; this past weekend brought ticket sales to $472 million worldwide.
This weekend also saw impressive numbers for a number of other films. Frozen 2 has been out for more than a month but managed to pull in another $42 million this weekend. Little Women debuted on Christmas day and has earned $35.3 million so far. Cats — well, we’re not going to talk about that.
