CW announced early renewals of 13 fan-favorite series for the 2020-21 season yesterday.
Along with a promise to make binge-watching past episodes easier by upping its streaming game, CW renewed the second seasons of Batwoman and Nancy Drew. All American, Charmed, In the Dark, Legacies, and Rosewell, New Mexico will all receive third seasons. Black Lightning and Dynasty are on deck for their fourth seasons.
We’ll be getting much-needed Arrowverse action, too. DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash, and Supergirl are each getting either a sixth or seventh season. Riverdale was greenlit for its fifth — which means if they actually kill Jughead during this season I will riot.
Katy Keene — a Riverdale spinoff — was approved for 13 more scripts ahead of its Feb. 6 premiere date. The series promises to infuse music into the struggles of four artists trying to make it in New York City. Ashleigh Murray reprises her role as Josie (five years after the events in Riverdale), and Lucy Hale stars as Katy, an aspiring fashion designer.
Now that we know all of our favorites are coming, maybe it’s a good time to start preparing for all the drama they will surely bring back into our lives.
