It’s a bird, it’s a plane — it’s Superman Day! DC Comics and Warner Bros. Discovery are gearing up for the annual celebration with a wave of exclusive releases and fan experiences that do the hero justice.
On April 18, Kryptonian pop-ups will crash-land in three cities around the world. At The Americana in Los Angeles, a Daily Planet newsstand will offer the latest special edition of the newspaper, along with themed snacks for fans, families, and even their four-legged friends. Throughout the day, fans can snap pics at large-than-life photo-ops, adopt a puppy from Best Friends Animal Society, or grab a scratch-off ticket for the chance to win a variety of powerful prizes, such as a free digital download of Superman (2025) or tickets to the immersive Superman Experience: Defenders Unite attraction at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank.

A second Daily Planet newsstand will set up shop in Italy in Milan’s CityLife neighborhood. From April 18-19, the stand will serve up ice cream, dog treats, and the latest Daily Planet newspaper, featuring new articles about the Man of Tomorrow. After these super sweets, fans can step inside Krypto’s Doghouse of Solitude, pose with an oversized S-Shield symbol, or create a personalized Metropolis souvenir postcard at the Milan-exclusive photo booth.
The final pop-up will take place in Fuzhou, China, at the world-renowned Bubbling Boiling Music Festival. On top of the giant S-Shield installation and other activations, this Daily Planet newsstand will also feature a new Krpyto-inspired photo-op exclusive to the location.
In honor of Superman’s selfless spirit and love of humanity, Warner Bros. and DC Comics are partnering with nonprofits to inspire fans to give back. In addition to Best Friends Animal Society’s on-site animal adoptions in Los Angeles, a special Superman Day Krypto short will air on all Warner Bros. platforms on April 18, linking viewers to the organization’s site and championing the message, “You have the power to save a pet like Krypto.”
Meanwhile, together with Discovery Education and Boys & Girls Clubs of America, DC Superpowered Storytellers will bring Superman-themed activities and events to classrooms, clubs, and homes across the U.S., helping kids of all backgrounds strengthen their storytelling, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills as they explore their inner superhero.
To top it all off, Superman will share the spotlight in DC’s Summer of Supergirl campaign, bringing both characters’ most iconic tales back to comic book shops with new cover variants, collected anthologies, and limited releases for readers of all ages. Highlights include facsimile editions of Action Comics No. 1 and No. 252, Superman and Supergirl’s respective debuts; 2026 Superman Day special editions of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow No. 1 and Superman No. 1; and hardcover deluxe editions of the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow and All-Star Superman runs.
Superman Day will kick off on April 18. Until then, fans can catch up on the hero’s classic films, animated series, and the latest blockbusters on HBO Max.
