Dora the Explorer may be used to roughing it, but our girl is about to glam it up to the 10th degree. Eva Longoria joined Paramount’s live-action Dora the Explorer film based on the Nickelodeon TV series as Dora’s mother, Elena. The actress got her start on Desperate Housewives and has since been stacking up director credits under her belt.
The movie will tell the story of Dora, an adventurous girl who grew up exploring the jungle with her parents and is now about to journey to the even more turbulent environment of high school.
Isabela Moner will play Dora, joined by Eugenio Derbez, Micke Moreno, Nicholas Coombe, Madeleine Madden, Adriana Barraza, and Temuera Morrison.
James Bobin is directing and Kristin Burr is producing the movie, which is currently filming in Australia.
Dora the Explorer is set to hit theaters Aug. 2 of next year.
