Fathom Events, Turner Classic Movies, and Warner Bros. will re-release The Wizard of Oz in theaters next week to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the film’s premiere.

Dorothy and Toto along with their friends the Tin Man, the Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion will be off to see the Wizard in select U.S. theaters on Sunday, Jan. 27, Tuesday, Jan. 29, and Wednesday, Jan. 30.

The film’s anniversary edition will feature TCM host Ben Mankiewicz in a new introduction and post-film observations. If you stick around for his observations, you’ll get to learn behind-the-scenes details from the movie’s production process.

“1939 is often referred to as the true zenith of the Hollywood studio system,” Tom Lucas, Fathom Events VP of studio relations, says in a statement, “and The Wizard of Oz represents this moment by bringing together the very best talent—both in front of and behind the camera—to create on of the greatest films of all time.”

The film adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s classic children’s book premiered in Hollywood in August 1939.

The Wizard of Oz scored six Oscar nominations at the 1940 Academy Awards. Although the film lost the award for best picture to Gone With the Wind, it won the awards for original score and original song for “Over the Rainbow.”

Fathom Event started its yearlong “TCM Big Screen Classics” series with The Wizard of Oz. Fourteen additional screenings of hit films, including My Fair Lady, To Kill a Mockingbird, Hello, Dolly!, The Shawshank RedemptionAlien, The Godfather Part II, and When Harry Met Sally, will follow, Variety reported.
