The Pokémon Co. is continuing its 30th anniversary celebration with its newest collab with Fender, and it’s for all the Musician Trainers.
The musical instrument brand is launching two custom, made-in-Japan electric guitars inspired by the first two mainline series games, the Pokémon Red Version Stratocaster and the Pokémon Green Version Telecaster.

Both guitars feature the game’s iconic pixelated graphics on the body, so fans can see their favorite Pokémon and character sprites from the original games. The pickguards also have sprites where the strings overlap, and the Japanese and English versions of each game’s title.
Unique to these guitars is an “8-BitSound System” that can be activated by pressing the volume knob, letting players add some 8-bit vibes to their next jam session. Check out the difference in sound below:
Each guitar will come with a certificate of authenticity, a collectible pick tin featuring 11 different pick designs, and a dedicated hard case to keep everything safe.
While these guitars are currently Japan-exclusive, fans can stay tuned for updates on their release in their region by visiting fender.com.
