Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

It’s the end of spring, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get excited for the second best time of year: Christmas. Halloween is the first, obviously.

Freeform will reach two major milestones this year during its 25 Days of Christmas special programming event.

Holiday movie classics Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer will air for the first time ever on cable TV during Freeform’s 25 Days of Christmas. Viewers will be able to catch these two iconic Rankin/Bass Productions animated movies along with Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town and The Little Drummer Boy. I apologize if the songs are already stuck in your head.

Freeform will also air its own gift-wrapping competition called Wrap Battle. Contestants will battle it out using their gift-wrapping skills to take on several challenges and win $50,000. Where do I sign up?

Just before Christmas rolls around, Freeform will unveil its spooky Halloween programming. The channel will bring back the 31 Nights of Halloween for the second year in a row and host a new original special, Halloween Extravaganza Bash, to celebrate the biggest Halloween moments in pop culture.

Hopefully, Freeform will stick to all Halloween-related movies this time around because Disney’s Frozen, Mulan, and The Breakfast Club don’t scream scary at all. Let’s also hope for a major throwback to the ABC Family times when viewers got Scariest Places on Earth-style countdowns.

Horror fans can get ready for a lineup of film classics, including Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2, the Scream trilogy, Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, and The Addams Family.

You can’t have Halloween without Hocus Pocus, so Freeform is bringing it back, too. This year, the channel plans to top its record of broadcasting the movie 27 times.

The new holiday programming will follow the arrival of The Simpsons on Freeform in September. Fans will be able to catch Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie in all 30 seasons of their hilarious adventures.
