If you needed an excuse to take a trip to Las Vegas, here it is! Warner Bros. Television Group, AT&T, and MGM Resorts International are bringing the people what they want: a Friends’ 25th Anniversary celebration in the Sin City.
On Friday, Oct. 18, the Fountains of Bellagio will debut a new fountain show set to the Friends theme song, “I’ll Be There For You” by the Rembrandts. The Central Perk couch will be on site in front of the fountains for photo-ops.
The Rembrandts will make an appearance on Saturday, Oct. 19 for an exclusive live set at the Park, the outdoor dining and entertainment district located adjacent to New York-New York Hotel & Casino.
AT&T will unveil its Friends fan experience that same day at New York-New York, including Phoebe’s Yellow Cab Escape Room. Fans can test their knowledge of the series with some Friends trivia inside Phoebe’s fully operational taxicab outside the hotel’s Brooklyn Bridge replica.
Fans can also snap photos of a life-sized Central Perk LEGO set there. Built out of 900,000 LEGO bricks over a period of four months by artist Nathan Sawaya, the recreation features fully functional furniture that visitors can actually sit on — including an orange sofa. A miniature version of the LEGO Central Perk set is now available at retailers nationwide.
Visitors can record a 3D version of themselves doing Chandler’s happy dance — or their own signature moves — then drop their virtual twin into a miniature replica of Monica and Rachel’s apartment using AT&T’s 5G with Ericsson’s 5G network equipment. They can view the video on Samsung tablets and the Galaxy S10 5G.
Other events include a Friends-themed karaoke booth, appearances by Marcel the monkey, a Friends Tech Timeline, a Blue Man Group Central Perk sofa transformation displayed at the Luxor Hotel and Casino, and a contest to win an orange couch replica. AT&T customers can follow @attthanks on Twitter and retweet the pinned tweet at the top of the page from now through Oct. 7 for a chance to win a replica of the orange couch for their home.
