Justin Wong GameStop

Amateur gamers are getting the ultimate video game training experience this fall.

GameStop is working with professional Street Fighter gamer Justin Wong to host a 45-minute clinic with a series of short videos intended to help newbies perfect their video game fighting skills. These will include tutorials on popular fighting games, including Mortal Kombat 11, Tekken 7, and Street Fighter 5

“Teaming up with GameStop while supporting the fighting game community is a dream come true,” Justin Wong said in a statement. “I am excited to develop educational content for some of the top fighting games and raise awareness of this specific area of gaming.”

Wong will join the video game retailer’s roster of esports pros who team up with GameStop monthly to host lessons for top competitive video games. GameStop also organizes tournaments and other events in partnership with professional Fortnite, Call of Duty, and Overwatch players.

“As we continue to evolve in the esports space, we are always looking to identify the right partnerships to help support and grow our esports ecosystem — and Justin Wong fits the bill perfectly,” Frank Hamlin, chief customer officer for GameStop, said in a statement. “This partnership allows us to engage with gamers who are looking to improve their gaming skills and it doesn’t get any better than aligning ourselves with a legend like Justin Wong.”

GameStop recently organized an Overwatch clinic with top rivals Dallas Fuel and Houston Outlaws. Pros from both teams shared their perspective on various skills, like shield training, the ultimate economy, and professional-grade cool-down management.

The video game giant is committed to esports, partnering with Complexity Gaming, Infinite Esports, and Envy Gaming, and more for its esports training facility, as well as other initiatives. Gamers can find a full list of events on GameStop’s esports website
