google play pass

Mobile gaming has officially joined the Apple versus Android arena.

Apple launched its Apple Arcade subscription service last week, which offers users more than 100 exclusive games across Apple devices for $4.99 per month. Yesterday, Google gave its answer by revealing details for its Google Play Pass subscription.

The subscription gives users access to “hundreds of awesome games and apps, completely free of ads and in-app purchases.” Unlike Apple Arcade, these games don’t seem to be exclusive to Google Play Pass.

A play pass subscription costs $1.99 per month for the first 12 months, then $4.99 per month. Family managers can also share access to the subscription — which includes family-friendly titles — with up to five other family members.

This subscription service is set to launch over the course of this week. To subscribe, select “Play Pass” from the menu in the Google Play Store app.
