Grab your wand, your Nimbus 2000, and your smartphone. Harry Potter is getting a magical mobile game. Well, another one.
Zynga, makers of a wee, little game called Words With Friends, is launching Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells in select markets today. The game will combine classic match-three puzzle gameplay with the characters, spells, and the magical mayhem of the wizarding world.
By teaming up with other users, players can create clubs to socialize and compete in cooperative, in-game activities. Players can also create their own magical avatar posed with completing challenges and unlocking new spells and brewing potions. Look out for a few one-eyed trolls or marauders mapping about: The game promises interactive challenges with memorable characters and moments from the original films.
New abilities and rewards will be gained by cashing in experience points earned from completing the games’ puzzles and daily events. I’m just hoping I can cash mine in for some Chocolate Frogs or Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans.
The game will launch worldwide for iOS, Android, Amazon Kindle, and Facebook platforms.
