Someone has already seen all six episodes of Game of Thrones Season 8. Good for them.
At Sunday’s recent post-Golden Globes party, HBO chief Richard Plepler revealed that he’s seen rough cuts of all six episodes of Game of Thrones‘ final season.
“It’s a spectacle. The guys have done six movies. The reaction I had while watching them was, ‘I’m watching a movie,’“ Plepler said. In regards to showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, Plepler stated: “They knew the bar was high. They’ve exceeded the bar. I’ve watched them twice without any CGI and I’m in awe. Everybody’s in for an extraordinary treat of storytelling and of magical, magical production.”
The very first footage from the series’ final season debuted in HBO’s Golden Globes commercial on Sunday.
Although the final season of GoT will have less episodes than previous seasons, rumors have swirled that each episode would be the length of a feature film. After Plepler’s recent statements, it seems like that rumor could now be fact.
