Ever since we found out that this season of American Horror Story: Apocalypse was going to be a crossover between Murder House and Coven, fans have been waiting for the return of our beloved witch squad. The first two episodes teased at it with little nuggets here and there, but the end of episode three gave us what we were waiting for with the full-blown comeback of our queens Madison Montgomery, Cordelia Goode, and Myrtle Snow.

The witches are back, but we’re still waiting on the return of the O.G. crew from Murder House, which we know is coming because Dylan McDermott and Connie Britton (who played the Harmons in season one) are confirmed for Apocalypse. While the anticipation is killing us, it looks like we might get another crossover treat this season as well.

There’s a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment in the trailer for the next episode at the 0.16 second mark that shows Michael Langdon walking into a room in the Hotel Cortez—yes, the Hotel Cortez of AHS‘ fifth season. Reddit users Aremid and jdeadmetsloanz noticed the detail and did a side-by-side comparison of the room in the trailer and the room featured in Hotel. And you know nothing gets past series creator Ryan Murphy, so that ain’t no coincidence.

Credit to u/Aremid_ for noticing this detail from Hotel in the promo! Here is another comparison picture. This theory means Michael most likely brought the witches back in some way…

What was Michael the Antichrist doing at Hotel Cortez? It looks like Apocalypse will link even more of the past seasons than we originally thought. We can also look forward to more flashbacks, like how Madison Montgomery and Michael have met before, shown at the very beginning of the trailer.

What is Michael’s connection to the witches? Something major clearly went down, since he said in the last episode that he thought he had gotten rid of them all. We’ll have to wait until the episode airs on Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET on FX to find out more!
