Netflix renewed its original series The Umbrella Academy for a second season, making the announcement via a teaser video on Twitter. Season one cast members Ellen Page, Tom Hooper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, and Justin Min will all return for season two, along with showrunner Steve Blackman.
The show is about 43 infants born to random women who showed no signs of pregnancy. A billionaire adopted seven of those infants and created the Umbrella Academy to teach the kids how to save the world. The family breaks apart, but the kids later reunite in an attempt to stave off an apocalypse after their adoptive father mysteriously passes away. The series is based on a collection of Dark Horse Comics graphic novels created and written by Gerard Way, the lead singer of My Chemical Romance.
The second season will consist of 10 episodes and will begin production this summer.
