Did you have “IRL Jumanji” on your 2022 bingo card? If you did, good job. Because the movie franchise is getting a whole slate of rides, lands, hotel rooms, and other themed fan experiences across Europe and North America.
Merlin Entertainments — the company behind LEGOLAND, Madame Tussauds, and more — has partnered with Sony Pictures Entertainment to tempt fate create these interactive experiences inspired by the Jumanji brand, which includes the original Robin Williams movie from 1995 and the more recent Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) and Jumanji: The Next Level (2019).
The first of these themed experiences will launch next month at Merlin’s Gardaland Resort in Italy. “Jumanji — the Adventure” is a themed ride (pictured, top) that will take Gardaland visitors to the world of Jumanji, complete with plenty of surprises and dangers in the wild jungle. The ride’s launch will be accompanied by fully themed Jumanji hotel rooms.
A second Jumanji activation is already in the works at another theme park and is scheduled to open next year, but there are no additional details at this time.
