A cult classic comes to gaming, bringing all the Klowns, comedy, and craziness from the original ’80s movie!
Killer Klowns from Outer Space is a cult hit comedy horror film, first released in 1988. The movie follows characters in the normally idyllic town of Crescent Cove as they deal with an invasion of clown-like aliens hoping to harvest humans and drink their blood. If that sounds like a goofy good time to all you horror fans, you’ll be eager to know the Klowns are back in town, this time for a new video game.
This game has been teased to fans over the past year, with Good Shepherd Entertainment originally at the helm. However, this weekend at Gamescom, IllFonic announced that it is now the official publisher on record for the game. The company will also co-develop the game, working alongside Teravision Games.
Today, IllFonic released a new Gameplay Teaser video for the game, which also debuted at Gamescom. The nearly 2-minute video features plenty of details that movie fans will recognize, including the Cotton Candy blaster and Shorty emerging from a pizza box.
Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game will feature the same over-the-top clownery as the movie. The game is a multiplayer horror survival experience, pitting three Klown players against a team of seven citizens of Crescent Cove. Shelter from the Klowns and help save the world from alien invasion or get ready to harvest some humans you find hiding! The game features randomly generated map layouts and a number of locations to play in.
Human players can pick a class and explore the area for valuable loot and weapons (as long as they avoid being captured by Klowns). Those who want to embody the terrifying Klowns will have access to strange abilities and zany weapons to help them find and capture humans.
The new hilarious and horrifying Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game will come out this year on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Players eager to head to the spookiest circus in town can get more information and apply for the closed Beta now at the official website.
