We’re a little more than a month out from the release of Disney’s “live-action” remake of The Lion King. So clearly it’s the exact time for the studio to start ramping up the teasers and sneak peeks to drive us all to the brink of madness waiting for this film to hit theaters.
(Spoiler alert: We all know precisely what happens, but it doesn’t matter: Give me this movie RIGHT NOW.)
Disney dropped a sneak peek, titled Come Home, in which we get an extended glimpse at Simba as Nala (voiced by the one and only Queen Bey aka Beyoncé Knowles-Carter) reminds him of his place and duties and heir to the throne.
Check out the footage below, and be warned that when Nala pleads with Simba to come home at the end, and her voice breaks just a wee lil’ bit, you may end up shedding a tear.
The remake, directed by Jon Favreau, is chocked full of star power. The cast includes Donald Glover as Simba, James Earl Jones as Mufasa, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, and Billy Eichner as Timon.
Speaking of the supporting cast, poor Pumbaa was in the headlines last week after Disney released character posters and the collective (not so bright) internet #gasped because he was not gorgeous. Well, ahem, he is, in fact, a warthog. So, um, goodbye.
