Disney+ became my new go-to streaming platform the precise moment that the Mouse House announced they would bring back an all-grown-up Lizzie McGuire for a revival. Seriously, THIS is what dreams are made of!

During the D23 Expo announcement, Disney revealed series star Hilary Duff would return to her Lizzie McGuire roots for a new reboot on the platform and reunite with original creator Terri Minsky, who will return as showrunner and executive producer. The new Lizzie McGuire picks up with a newly 30-year-old Lizzie, who has it all — the perfect boyfriend, her dream job, and a killer Brooklyn apartment — however, things aren’t always what they seem. Lizzie will team up with her friends, family, and even her animated 13-year-old alter ego (!!) to navigate the real world and adulthood.

You heard that right: her family will help out Lizzie on her journey of self-discovery. Disney announced yesterday that the whole McGuire fam has signed on for the reboot as they met up (for the first time in 15 years!) this week to read the first episode together. Actors Hallie Todd (mom Jo McGuire), Robert Carradine (dad Sam McGuire), and Jake Thomas (pesky little bro Matt McGuire) will reprise their roles and join Duff for the Disney+ revival.

“Just like there is no Lizzie McGuire without Hilary Duff, there is no McGuire family without Hallie, Robert, and Jake,” said Gary Marsh, president and chief creative officer, Disney Channels Worldwide, in a statement. “The original series holds a special place in the hearts of so many, and we can’t wait to introduce fans, both old and new, to an older, wiser, yet still perfectly imperfect Lizzie.”

In the above photo of the picture-perfect cast reunion, eagle-eyed fans can even make out that the first script will be titled “13 Going On 30.” Could anything else be better??
