You know what would have helped pass time on the journey to Mordor? A really good mobile game.
Thankfully, Electronic Arts (EA) is bringing the fun of Middle-earth to mobile devices, helping to make your day-to-day adventures a little more magical. The game studio has partnered with Middle-earth Enterprises for The Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth. This will be a role-playing mobile game that offers turn-based combat, collection systems, and a wide variety of characters from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. In the game, players will battle through iconic stories from the world of Tolkien and take up the fight against the great evils of Middle-earth.
The Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth will be the next licensed title in EA’s mobile portfolio, following the popular Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes. EA has also previously produced a variety of PC and console games inspired by the Lord of the Rings books and movies.
While there isn’t a release date yet, this new game will begin a limited, regional beta test this summer. The Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth will require an internet connection and will be free to play, with in-game purchases available.
