Founded in 1971 by George Lucas, Lucasfilm has revolutionized visual effects, sound designs, and more in its 34 movie and television releases. Lucasfilm’s feature film debut, THX 1138 was inspired by Lucas’ international student film and takes place in a dystopian society where love is forbidden. Currently, Lucasfilm produces The Mandalorian, one of the biggest series on Disney+.Â
The award-winning studio has expanded into books and video games, receiving more and more accolades along the way. Fans can celebrate the anniversary by bingeing their favorite Star Wars trilogy, diving into one of Lucasfilm Publishing’s comic books, or beating the final level in one of Lucasfilm Games’ video games.Â
