Wa-hoo! Just what we needed, as Mario would say.
Today, Nintendo revealed a new, themed Switch system, and it’s a tribute to everyone’s favorite 8-bit plumber (sorry, Luigi).
This special edition system — officially dubbed the Nintendo Switch: Mario Red & Blue Edition — features the distinct color scheme of Mario’s iconic outfit. The set includes red Joy-Con controllers with blue straps, a blue Joy-Con grip, a red dock, and a red Nintendo Switch System. This is the first time that the Switch itself will be available in a new color, as last year’s Animal Crossing-themed Switch console was still black.
To keep this snazzy new system safe, the set also comes with a stylized carrying case and a screen protector.
This set will be available starting on Feb. 20 at select retailers, at a suggested price of $299.99.
And if you’re looking for a new game to play on your new *super* Mario console, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is also set to launch on Feb. 12. Nintendo revealed a first look at footage from this new game today, and fans can expect to see Mario take on a fearsome feline form as he faces a super-sized Bowser.
