A Marvel panel is the place to be at any comic con, and New York Comic Con (NYCC) 2025 is no different. On Saturday afternoon, fans crowded into the Empire Stage to hear about upcoming projects from Marvel Television and Marvel Animation.
The panel kicked off with a view at trailers for the upcoming seasons of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and X-Men ‘97. Season two of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man will feature a more in-depth exploration of the character of Peter Parker and will feature appearances from Gwen Stacy, Doctor Octopus, and even Venom.
“Jeff Trammell, our showrunner, is really digging into the history of these characters, especially Peter Parker and his personal history,” says Brad Winderbaum, head of Streaming, Television and Animation at Marvel Studios. “When it bubbles up in the present day, that causes a lot of tension and anxiety in this ensemble. As you can imagine, it’s kind of personified by this black, oozey substance that maybe some of you might be familiar with.”

In the X-Men ‘97 season two trailer, it is revealed that the X-Men are scattered throughout time and must find their way back to the ’90s. Winderbaum also announced that crew members from the OG X-Men: The Animated Series were signing onto production for the series, including writers Eric and Julia Lewald and director Larry Houston.
“I want to reiterate the impact (that this) has had on me, because we would not be here if fans had not found the show in the first place, and loved the show and kept things going and kept the love going,” Julia Lewald says. “We’re talking 30 years, how is this even possible? But the true generosity of your spirit is just phenomenal and I can’t thank you all enough.”
X-Men ‘97 season two is slated to come out next summer, with a confirmed third season also starting production.

Then, the panel shifted into live action with the first trailer for the second season of Daredevil: Born Again. In this new season, Matt Murdock continues his ongoing battle against Wilson Fisk. In the trailer, fans got the very first look at the return of Jessica Jones. After the trailer, Charlie Cox and Krysten Ritter joined fans on stage to talk a little bit about being back in the shoes of these characters.
“It was surreal, but also as if no time had passed,” Ritter says. “I love Charlie so much as a person. I love being with him and acting with him, and I always have, and I love playing these characters and it just felt big and celebratory and larger than life.”

Fans also got a look into Wonder Man, which is hitting Disney+ on Jan. 27. In this new series, Simon Williams (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) is a down-on-his-luck actor who meets Trevor Slattery (Ben Kingsley) in the audition process to become a superhero. Following a first look at the series, Abdul-Mateen and Kingsley came out on stage to discuss the show and the process of playing an actor on screen.
“There’s so much that goes into it,” Abdul-Mateen says. “There’s vulnerability, there’s ego, there’s hopes and dreams, there’s ambition, there’s the lonely road. As Simon, I get to walk that fine line and experience all of that. I’m really excited to share Simon’s journey towards achieving his dream.”

Just when fans thought the panel was over, the Marvel team reminded them that you always stay through the credits. At the very tail end of the panel, Paul Bettany came out on stage to reveal the first trailer for Visionquest, a series following the White Vision we see at the end of WandaVision as he tries to connect with Red Vision’s memories.
The show was referred to as the “conclusion to a trilogy,” also featuring WandaVision and Agatha All Along. In the first trailer, we see all of the iconic Artificial Intelligence seen throughout the series in human form, including JARVIS (played by James D’Arcy, who also played the real human Jarvis), EDITH, and, of course, Ultron (played once again by James Spader). The trailer also revealed Ruaridh Mollica as Tommy, Wanda and Vision’s second son.
Regardless of what show you’re most excited about from this slate, we sure have been fed well by Marvel this year.
