Hello Mattel

If you’re into Hello Kitty, there’s a bunch of must-have merch on the way late next year!

Mattel entered into an international licensing agreement with Sanrio, the company behind the iconic Hello Kitty brand.

Mattel will design and develop toys, dolls, play sets, games, puzzles, baby gear, plush, vehicles, and other products inspired by Hello Kitty & Friends, Hello Kitty Cafe, and other characters in the Sanrio portfolio — including Keroppi, Chococat, Badtz-Maru, Little Twin Stars, Tuxedosam, Pompompurin, My Melody, Hangyodon, Pochacco, and others.

“Mattel is the perfect partner to align with our mission to evolve the brand and connect with Sanrio fans worldwide,” says Craig Takiguchi, COO of Sanrio. “Their global reach and creative approach to product development and storytelling is like no other.”

Beginning next fall, the new toys and games will available in North America, Europe, Latin America, Australia, and New Zealand.

Of course, we shouldn’t forget that Hello Kitty is coming to theaters in a new movie from Warner Bros., the same studio that Mattel Films is working with on the Hot Wheels and Barbie movies. Who doesn’t love a little corporate synergy?
