Mickey: The True Original Exhibition will open in New York City from November 8 to February 10, with Mickey Mouse-inspired projects from a variety of contemporary artists. The 16,000-square-foot exhibition will include interactive multi-sensory experiences and photo ops to celebrate Mickey Mouse’s 90th anniversary.

Los Angeles-based designer and creative director Darren Romanelli brought together a team of contemporary artists to showcase Mickey Mouse in different mediums and formats.

Some of the participants include:

  • Tanya Aguiñiga: Wall weaving created from plush ears, blankets, and textiles.
  • Daniel Arsham: “Hiding Mickey” protruding wall sculpture based on his work in surreal sculptures.
  • Katherine Bernhardt: Large wall mural featuring Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Mickey’s favorite food.
  • Brian Bress: Video installation featuring the artist in a custom graphic Mickey costume drawing colorful figures.
