In July, Masters of the Universe fans were divided when Masters of the Universe: Revelation made its debut on Netflix. Led by showrunner Kevin Smith (Clerks, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back), the continuation of the 1980’s He-Man and the Masters of the Universe animated series dropped audiences into a world where former adversaries had to join forces to face a new threat. Then, a cliffhanger ending left fans — and the fate of He-Man — hanging.
The story will continue and conclude when Masters of the Universe: Revelation Part 2 debuts on Netflix on November 23. The war for Eternia picks up where Part 1 left off, with Skeletor wielding the Sword of Power in his new form — Skelegod — as the forces of good and evil face off once more.
To usher in the next chapter, Mattel will reimagine a mythical character from the 1980s as both an on-screen hero and a new offering in the action aisle.
Inspired by the unofficially named “Wonder Bread He-Man” from the original Masters of the Universe toy collection, Savage He-Man emerges with a true backstory.
“For years it was assumed that Prince Adam could only call upon the Power of Grayskull using the Sword of Power, but Adam himself always wondered what would happen if he called upon the power without the sword,” says PJ Lewis, vice president, global head – action figures, Mattel. “We now know the answer: Savage He-Man.”
The barbarian version of He-Man comes to the action aisle in a special, Masterverse 2-pack alongside Orko. Available next year, the figure will feature at least 30 points of articulation. Additionally, the second wave of Masterverse action figures includes Teela, Man-At-Arms, Beast Man, and Spikor and is hitting retail now.
