NBC is diving into the world of esports.
The peacock network has offered a script order to multicamera comedy The Squad, executive produced by Johnny Galecki (The Big Bang Theory) and written by Anthony Del Broccolo, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
According to THR, the series follows a “group of new friends (and sometimes enemies) who find companionship and common ground in their mutual love of esports” and aims to explore “what it means to finally find ‘your tribe’ after years of feeling like an outsider.”
Del Broccolo will pen the script and serve as an executive producer alongside Galecki and his Alcide Bava Productions studio.
