Get ready to raise a glass to freedom. Hamilton is going to drop directly on Disney+ in time to celebrate Independence Day.

Disney had intended to premiere the film next October in theaters and release it on Disney+ sometime after that. However, Disney is all about making magic happen, and some great tunes about the forefathers of the U.S. might just be what we all need during a worldwide pandemic. So instead, the Broadway blockbuster will head straight to streaming on July 3.

This version of the beloved musical was originally shot in 2016, meaning Lin-Manuel Miranda, Renée Elise Goldsberry, and Daveed Diggs all star in it, along with the rest of the original cast. It features a “live capture” view of the Broadway production, a move which Disney says brings fans an intimate glimpse of the show — and you won’t even need to put on pants to watch it (you probably still should, though).
