This weekend, Disney and Pixar’s Onward (reviewed here) brings its magical quest into theaters, and in select locations — 34 screens in the U.S. and Canada — the action will debut in 4DX.

4DX is truly an experience — immersing the audience in enhancements that hit on all of the senses with special effects, including wind, rain, motion, scents, and more. For Onward, the engineers at 4DX worked with Pixar to create “magical” motion and lightning effects to enhance the cinematic presentation.

Over the past year, 4DX technology was used to enhance Sonic the Hedgehog, Star Wars: The Rise of SkywalkerFrozen 2Hobbs & ShawToy Story 4, and more. Upcoming 4DX presentations include MulanTrolls World Tour, and Black Widow.

Most 4DX presentations only run for a week or two, so be sure to catch Onward while you can. For a full list of participating theaters, click here.
