The name’s game’s Bond, James Bond.

Today, IO Interactive (in collaboration with MGM, EON Productions, and Delphi) revealed plans for an upcoming video game with the working title Project 007. Yes, IO Interactive — the team behind the Hitman franchise — is developing and publishing a new game inspired by the iconic spy. And it features the very first James Bond origin story, which will be exclusive to the game.

The 007 game is in the very early stages of development, but the company did release an announcement/teaser trailer for the game today.

Project 007 will be powered by IO Interactive’s proprietary Glacier technology and will be made for modern gaming systems and platforms. At this time, the company is recruiting talent to form the teams that will create the game.

“Creating an original Bond game is a monumental undertaking and I truly believe that IO Interactive, working closely with our creative partners at EON and MGM, can deliver something extremely special for our players and communities,” IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abrak said via an official press release. “Our passionate team is excited to unleash their creativity into the iconic James Bond universe and craft the most ambitious game in the history of our studio.”
