A moment of silence for all the characters that will inevitably die a most gruesome death during next year’s final season of HBO’s Games of Thrones.
With more than 1,000 deaths that have occurred in the HBO series’ entirety to date, there has been talk that the final season would veer away from this common scenario, and instead focus on tying up loose ends and storylines. Well, not according to Observer’s latest chat with Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark).
Not only is Game of Thrones keeping us waiting more than TWO years for the new and final season, but according to Turner, the upcoming season will feature the bloodiest episodes yet. “It’s Game of Thrones,” said Turner, “so it’s going to be bloodier and more death and more emotionally torturous than all the years before.”
“Emotionally torturous,” sounds like something to really look forward to. Important question, is anyone actually shocked?
While she didn’t give any hints as to which characters will meet their end, she did discuss Sansa’s character development throughout the show, and how she is happy with her character arc. Considering Sansa was No. 1 on the list of useless characters during most of the first season, it is truly remarkable that she transformed into a literal bada*s.
“I always had the feeling that [Sansa] was learning and adapting,” said Turner. “And at some point or another, it was going to manifest itself somehow, and she manifested it into being a warrior.”
