A galaxy far, far away is finally coming to America. Disney unveiled the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opening seasons. Disneyland guests can enjoy the intergalactic theme park expansion in summer 2019, while Disney World goers will have to wait until late fall 2019.
Though Disney World is subject to a longer wait, there are some perks. A Star Wars themed hotel designed to be an immersive experience with in-character performers including aliens and humans traveling on a spaceship, is slated to open in just the Disney World park, according SyFy Wire. Both parks will include a Millennium Falcon ride that will place guests in the cockpit as they attempt to pilot the galaxy’s most famous ship. Galaxy’s Edge will also reportedly allow guests to follow their own narrative; and their piloting performance on the Millennium Falcon ride may affect their reception at other areas in the park.
Galaxy’s Edge is set on a new planet called Batuu, and the timeframe is said to be during the gap between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens.
