In 2020 we’ve faced wildfires, the almost-beginning of World War III, and a global pandemic — but maybe all we need is to be excellent to each other and party on.
Bill and Ted might be able to save the world. The pair are tasked with just that in the first official trailer for the third installment of their shenanigans, nearly 30 years after the second. They rush to the rescue, traveling through time once again. Check it out below.
While it kind of feels like it should be called Bill & Ted’s Excellent Mid-Life Crisis, Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter reprise their early-90s bromance in the best way possible. The pair is first seen as a failing bar band but are then tasked with creating a song to save the world as we know it.
Of course, this means heading to the future to steal the song from themselves. Bill and Ted will be helped by their daughters, a new batch of historical figures (sorry that probably means no Socrates), and some yet-to-be-named musical icons.
Bill & Ted Face the Music is scheduled to rock into theaters on Aug. 21, but with many theaters still shut down right now, we’ll need extra excellent energy and bodacious vibes to make it happen.
