It’s Thursday and everyone’s favorite hunky young man Noah Centineo is at the center of some major nerd news. Centineo reportedly is in talks to play He-Man in the upcoming Masters of the Universe film, from Sony Pictures and Mattel Films.
If you have an Instagram account (read: if you are a human person in 2019), you probably haven’t gone a day without seeing Centineo since his breakout role in Netflix’s To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before (see our latest staff picks for many reasons why this movie is the bee’s knees), which was quickly followed by another Netflix Original, Sierra Burgess Is a Loser. In November, he’s also appearing in Charlie’s Angels.
According to Hollywood Reporter, brothers Adam and Aaron Nee are directing Masters of the Universe, which is based on Mattel’s classic toy line turned animated series (1983-85) and film (1987). Like the property, the film will center on warrior He-Man, the last hope in a magical land called Eternia.
Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Steve Tisch, and DeVon Franklin are producing the reboot. A previous draft of the screenplay was written by David S. Goyer, who will also serve as an executive producer.
