star trek

Noah Hawley, known for his work on Legion and Fargo, is heading into the galaxy. According to an exclusive report from Deadline, Hawley will helm the next film installment in the Star Trek franchise as the writer, director, and producer. (JJ Abrams will also produce).

There are few details and no timeline set for this new movie yet, but it will be the fourth movie in this film series. The most recent was 2016’s Star Trek Beyond.

According to Variety, stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, and Zoe Saldana are expected to reprise their roles on the U.S.S. Enterprise in the upcoming installment.

Last year, when the studio attempted to start the fourth movie with S.J. Clarkson at the helm, Chris Hemsworth turned down an opportunity to reprise his role as Pine’s father. Reportedly, Hawley’s version will have a different plot than the one Hemsworth refused.
