Let the following serve as a sad reminder that HBO’s hit series Game of Thrones is coming to an end in 2019. While the highly-anticipated season is still a ways away, it’s expected to be a thrilling end to an incredible story.

Peter Dinklage, who plays the ever-strategic Tyrion Lannister on the show, recently finished filming his scenes. “Nothing is shot chronologically, so you don’t get some big mountaintop scene or anything. It’s just, ‘That’s a wrap on Peter Dinklage,'” Dinklage said. “But as anticlimactic as it was, my last day was also beautifully bittersweet. A lot of people whom I love were on set that day. Even if they weren’t working, they came to set, which was beautiful.”

After nearly seven years together, the Game of Thrones cast has clearly become a family. Dinklage said that he was moved by the final day of filming for one younger character in particular. “I won’t say their name or their character’s name, but one of the young people on the show wrapped this past season and everybody was a wreck,” Dinklage said. “This person had grown up on the show, you know? They were a child and now they were an adult. And then they’re done. It’s like we were witnessing this person saying good-bye to their childhood. I know Game of Thrones is just a TV show, la-di-da, but it was our life.”

Game of Thrones is more than just a TV show for fans. It’s a full-fledged fandom, and fans can only expect some signature fireworks (and deaths) in the coming season. While Dinklage won’t disclose any details regarding Tyrion’s fate, he did say that he was satisfied with it. “I feel very, very–I’m trying to find the right word. I think he was given a very good conclusion,” he said. “No matter what that is–death can be a great way out.”

The final Game of Thrones season is set to premiere sometime in 2019.
