‘Project Hail Mary’ Makes its ‘Fortnite’ Debut

The epic sci-fi movie Project Hail Mary heads to theaters next week, and fans can hype themselves up to see Dr. Ryland Grace and Rocky on screen together by playing the new Fortnite integration featuring the movie. 

Project Hail Mary will appear across two existing Fortnite games: the Chained Together Spacewalk Integration and three minigames in Minigame Box PvP. The Chained Together Spacewalk Integration is inspired by Grace’s high-stakes spacewalks, with a vertical course inspired by the Hail Mary ship. Players must coordinate movements to avoid drifting while gravity shifts. 

There are three minigames in Minigame Box PvP. In the lobby, players can hang out with Rocky while they choose which games to play, including a condensed version of Chained Together; Astrophage Prop Hunt, which takes place in a laboratory with Astrophage characters blending into the environment; and Rocky’s Language Puzzle, which is has players trying to decipher Rocky’s melodic sentences to open word-gates and pass through the course. 

Players can also explore the world of the upcoming film with custom-built maps and a series of live Fortnite events, including one tied to a private screening at the Los Angeles Griffith Observatory on March 16. 

Players can take part in the Project Hail Mary fun from now until March 27, just enough time to get hyped up before the movie hits screens and relive the experience after.
