Zachary Quinto spilled some tea, and is leading fans to believe that the current Star Trek film cast may team up with Quentin Tarantino for his new Star Trek movie.

Tarantino’s Star Trek is one big question mark right now, but one thing that most seemed to be certain of was that it may not feature the current cast of the Star Trek films. Quinto is not convinced. “My assumption is that it is with us,” he said on the Happy Sad Confused podcast. “That is how it has been presented.”

Though it appears that the Kelvin timeline Enterprise crew will return for the film, Quinto’s theory is that it ain’t over ’til the fat lady sings, with “Hollywood” being the “fat lady.”

“You know, until deals are done and contracts are signed and schedules are cleared, nothing is set in stone, so anything can happen,” he said. “My understanding is Quentin had this idea and they were shaping it and forming it and he is off to do his Manson movie. And it would be after that, that we would go maybe do one with him. Which is pretty exciting, pretty cool.”

Show biz, amirite?

Tarantino is a major Trekkie, and in the past he has said that his take on a Star Trek movie would be to take one of the original series episodes and turn it into a story for the big screen.Though it is all speculation, playing in the Kelvin timeline would give him the opportunity to do this, without effecting the prime timeline’s continuity.

Nothing has been confirmed by Paramount, so for now, we’ll just have to put all of our energy into the upcoming release of Star Trek 4.
