Regal Cinemas will reopen on Aug. 21, five months after the movie theater chain shut its doors amid concerns over the novel coronavirus.
Theatergoers will have to comply with a number of safety measures set with the latest CDC and public health guidelines, including mandatory mask policies for both guests and workers. In the theaters, groups will have to keep at least two seats in between each other and the capacity will be limited to 50% in areas that require it.
According to Deadline, the theater release schedule is as follows:
- August 21
- Unhinged
- Inception rerelease
- August 28
- The New Mutants (for more Disney head here!)
- Fatima (also coming digitally)
- The Personal History of David Copperfield
- Sept. 1
- Bill & Ted Face the Music (select theaters only and coming to digital)
- Sept. 3
- Tenet
- Sept. 18
- The King’s Man
- Kajillionaire
- Sept. 25
- Greenland
- Oct. 2
In addition to employees wearing hazmat suits, (kidding, but maybe they should) they will be required to undergo daily health screenings and every other register will be closed in order to maintain social distancing. Guests are encouraged to order concessions and tickets online or through Regal’s app. For a complete list of regulations head here.
AMC Theaters recently also announced it plans to open in Mid-August with similar guidelines for guests.
