R&M season 4

Game of Thrones fans thought they had it bad, waiting 21 months between the show’s seventh and eighth seasons. Well, try being a Rick and Morty fan.

Yesterday, Adult Swim announced that the adult cartoon will return for its fourth season this November. That means fans will have waited more than two years for new episodes of the science fiction sitcom, which follows the adventures of mad scientist Rick Sanchez and his grandson, Morty Smith.

Rick and Morty made the season-four announcement themselves in a video that Adult Swim posted yesterday.

Despite the long wait time, fans were excited to finally get news about the new season. The video has more than 1 million views on YouTube, and the tweet of the video has hundreds of replies (mostly Rick and Morty gifs, of course).

At this point, there aren’t any additional details, such as the exact release date or how many episodes will be in this season. November is still half a year away, though, so I suppose they have some time to fill in the blanks.
