Avengers Endgame

Marvel fanatics are always looking to crack the mysteries of the MCU and what’s going to happen next, but Avengers directors Joe and Anthony Russo reveal that no one ever guesses correctly.

“The fans are so passionate and they spend such a long time living with these characters, thinking about these characters, and they’re using their imaginations to follow where these stories could possibly go. Sometimes they’re wildly off, sometimes they’re kinda next door to what might happen,” Anthony Russo says in an interview with journalist Jake Hamilton. But no one is ever really that close.

Even the actors in the movies are on a need-to-know basis. The directors give them context about their characters but never reveal the entire story. “Our mission is always to surprise people so we try to make really surprising choices,” Joe Russo says.

“That’s the job, be disruptive,” Joe says. “Break up the Avengers, make the good guy the bad guy.”

Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26. Check out the Russo Brothers’ interview below.
