Eleven years later, hopes for The Simpsons Movie sequel is finally a reality as the animated series gears up for its 30th anniversary.
While the future of 20th Century Fox is still shaky as it merges with Disney, the studio reportedly partnered with its own TV division to develop a second Simpsons film. A collection of Fox animated motion pictures is also in the works, meaning fans could see versions of Family Guy and Bob’s Burgers hit the big screen as well.
The Simpsons Movie originally came out in 2007 and followed Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and the gang after the fallout of a warning from the Environment Protection Agency (EPA) and Homer irresponsibly polluting Springfield’s lake. After facing exile and abandonment, Homer saved the day and stopped the EPA from destroying the city.
