Are you ready, kids?!

The cast of the celebrated The SpongeBob Musical: Live On Stage! Broadway musical will reunite for a special televised performance on Saturday, Dec. 7. The live showing will be simulcast on Nickelodeon, and the original Broadway cast members will reprise their roles. Ethan Slater is back as SpongeBob, as are Gavin Lee (Squidward), Danny Skinner (Patrick), and Brian Ray Norris (Mr. Krabs). Tom Kenny, the TV voice of SpongeBob, will join the ensemble as Patchy the Pirate, the fictional nautical president of the SpongeBob fan club. 

Kenny will perform “Poor Pirates,” an original song by Sara Bareilles. Panic! at the Disco, John Legend, and Flaming Lips will also provide original music. 

The SpongeBob Musical: Live On Stage! was widely critically acclaimed upon its release in 2017. It was listed as one of that years’ “Best on Broadway” by publications including the New York Times, Buzzfeed, Forbes, and more. 

The new TV special will air on Nickelodeon on Saturday, Dec 7. at 7 p.m.
