The Force will be strong in Philadelphia next year, as The Franklin Institute will be hosting an exhibit that Star Wars fans won’t want to miss.
To celebrate the franchise’s 50th anniversary, Lucasfilm, Disney Consumer Products, and The Franklin Institute will debut Star Wars: The Experience – A Journey Through the Galaxy, an official exhibition honoring five decades of innovation and creativity behind the Star Wars universe. The exhibit will cover all the behind-the-scenes magic and the evolution of the films, from the series’ humble analog beginnings to its modern digital advancements.
Fans will feel like they’re stepping into the world of Star Wars, walking through a room modeled after Queen Amidala’s throne room, seeing a life-size Han Solo frozen in carbonite, and exploring a gallery of set design blueprints, iconic props, collectibles, and artifacts from the films and TV series. As they go through the exhibit, fans can test their connection to The Force through interactive moments powered by the latest RFID tech.
Tickets for the special exhibit will go on sale this November, and the exhibit will be open at The Franklin Institute from Feb. 13 to Sept. 6. After that, it’ll continue to be on display across North America for the next five years, so you may just find it on display at a museum near you.
Fans can keep an eye out for tickets and more details about the upcoming exhibit at fi.edu.
