This quarantine is really just one long countdown until we can see The Child again, right?
Ahead of the season two premiere of The Mandalorian in October, Variety reports that pre-production has already begun on the third season of the Disney+ original series.
Unnamed sources report that creator Jon Favreau has been writing the third season and the Lucasfilm art department has spent the last few weeks working on concepts for the third installment of the hit show. Let’s hope there’s a whole lot of the precious little 50-year-old alien in store.
Luckily, Star Wars fans won’t need to wait too long for the return of Mando and The Child, with season two of The Mandalorian set to premiere on Disney+ in less than six months. The show finished production in early March before the COVID-19 pandemic set in, so the crisis is not expected to delay the release of the new season.
And not only are we in store for more Baby Yoda in season two, but also the first live-action appearance of Ahsoka Tano, the iconic double light-saber wielding Padawan leader previously only seen in the animated Star Wars series. The role will be played by Rosario Dawson, Variety confirmed.
