Disney is making a live-action Pinocchio movie, and it wants none other than Tom Hanks to play Geppetto, according to Collider.

Production is slated to start next summer, with director Paul King (Paddington) and producers Chris Weitz (Rogue One) and Andrew Miano (Depth of Field).

Disney released the original Pinocchio in 1940 as an animated film featuring a puppet that turns into a real boy. Geppetto is the toymaker who creates Pinocchio out of wood and then makes a wish (upon a star) for him to come to life.

The Disney remake is not to be confused with Guillermo del Toro’s live-action Pinocchio in the works for Netflix, which will tell a creepier version of the fairy tale in collaboration with the Jim Henson Co.
