Toy Story 4

Disney•Pixar’s Toy Story 4 is just around the corner, and we finally got a taste with an official trailer, images, and an introduction to the new characters. The film, directed by Josh Cooley and produced by Jonas Rivera and Mark Nielsen, follows Woody (voiced by Tom Hanks) as he goes on a road trip with Bonnie and the rest of the humans.

In the trailer, we meet the new toy on the block, Forky (voiced by Tony Hale), who declares himself as trash when he realizes that he’s a spork, not a real toy. Woody takes it upon himself to show Forky what being a toy is all about, and in the process he reunites with his long-lost friend Bo Peep (voiced by Annie Potts), who is back with a new spirit of adventure born from being on the road.

The character bios introduce Gabby Gabby (voiced by Christina Hendricks), a talking, pull-string doll from the 1950s. A manufacturing defect in her pull-string voice box has left her sounding a little frightening. She’s spent more than 60 years forgotten in an old antique store, where she befriends a band of voiceless ventriloquist dummies. Gabby Gabby knows someone will want to take her home once she finds a working voice box to replace her own.

Benson is one of the antique ventriloquist dummies who leads Gabby Gabby’s henchmen. Him and the other voiceless dummies patrol the antique store with an unsettling silence.

Duke Caboom (voiced by Keanu Reeves) is a toy from the 1970s based on Canada’s greatest stuntman. He rides a Caboom stunt-cycle with the confidence and swagger that reminds us of a certain space explorer from the first movie (*cough cough Buzz Lightyear*). Woody learns that Duke has never been able to do the crazy stunts advertised in his own toy commercial, which is probably why he’s been wallowing away in the antique store for years, reliving the failures of his past.

Giggle McDimples (voiced by Ally Maki) is a mini plastic doll from the 1980s, meant to be Bo Peep’s best friend. She’s small enough to perch on Bo’s shoulder but being so tiny, she’s been stepped on and vacuumed up time and time again.

Toy Story 4 releases in theaters on June 21. Check out the trailer and the poster below!
