Us is on track to earn more than $6 million from last night’s preview showings, according to Deadline.
As Jordan Peele fans await the final earnings, the horror film follow-up to Get Out is expected to top preview night earnings from The Nun ($5.4 million) and A Quiet Place ($4.3 million).
The movie starring Black Panther alums Lupita Nyong’o and Winston Duke is also creeping closer to Paranormal Activity 2’s preview night earnings, which came in at $6.3 million.
However, this is only the start of a scary good opening weekend for Us, which industry analysts forecast will earn $40 million to $48 million, according to Looper.
Us is in the running to top earnings for Get Out’s preview night along with its premiere weekend in February last year. Peele’s directorial debut scored $1.8 million during its Thursday night preview and $33 million over the course the opening weekend.
Rotten Tomatoes already lists Us as 95 percent certified fresh, while Get Out stands at 98 percent.
